With the financial support of the European Union, Eurasia Partnership Foundation in partnership with “Constitution” Research Foundation is implementing a 24-month "AgriVision" project in Lankaran economic region. The goal of the project is to create and test a sustainable replicable agro-tourism / ecotourism development mechanism that would help rural households in the southern region of Azerbaijan increase their revenue and intensify the connection between urban and rural in Azerbaijan. One of the main goals of the project is to increase the visibility and outreach of agri / eco-tourism destinations in southern Azerbaijan for in-country and overseas audiences through marketing and branding. Thereby Eurasia Partnership Foundation assembled a team of  marketing and communications experts who will prepare a marketing plan and branding package for all selected tourist destinations based on the results of expert assessments carried out under the project. This team also includes a film crew that will produce professional photo and video materials. The developers of the marketing plan first conducted online polls and focus group surveys with Baku residents - potential customers of tourist sites - to determine the level of awareness and expectations about agri / eco-tourism areas, as well as the preferred ways (means) to obtain information. Then they visited the selected tourist destinations and got acquainted with the current situation there. They also discussed marketing proposals with consortium members and found out their views on how to develop the marketing plan. At the same time, the film crew filmed in these tourist destinations during the trips and prepared professional promotional materials for marketing. In addition, a branding package is currently being developed that will form an important part of the marketing plan for the agi / eco-tourism services offered in the project region. The package will include logos, other components that are important to create a unified, recognizable and culturally relevant brand for the selected tourist destinations in the project. ..

Study tour has been organized in Turkey for representatives of agro / eco-tourism destinations. Owners (or representatives) of agro / eco-tourism destinations selected from Lankaran economic region within the AgriVision project implemented by Eurasia Partnership Foundation and Constitution Researches Foundation with the financial support of the European Union took part in a study tour in Izmir region of Turkey on July 5-10. The main purpose of the tour was to provide Azerbaijani participants with ideas and tested approaches to develop their tourist destinations. For the study tour, agri / eco-tourism farms were identified that were as compatible as possible with the conditions and opportunities of the selected tourist sites in Azerbaijan, but reached a higher level of development. In general, participants learned about the development strategies of the agri / eco-tourism farms, had the opportunity to learn directly from their colleagues by observing the structure and the delivery of tourism services on the spot. On the first day of the study tour, the participants visited the "Urla Sharabchilik" agro-tourism destination, whose main activity is winemaking and gardening. During the visit, they received information about the history and activities of the enterprise from officials and asked questions. In the next part of the program, a wine tasting service was organized by the tourist destination and participants were given presentations with brief information about different wines. At the end, a visit was organized to the botanical garden near the tourist destination. During this visit, participants were informed about the garden and the plants there, and offered plant species that may be of interest to them. On the second day of the study tour, the participants visited “Degirmen” Restaurant and Farm, which provides agro / eco-tourism services. In the first stage of the tour program, the participants got acquainted with the olive oil museum located inside the farm and had a trip to history through the exhibits about the production of olive oil. Afterwards, the deputy head of the enterprise informed the participants about the farm and horse-breeding, and the birds, animals and plants on the farm were demonstrated to them through an in-farm tour. At the end, Ms. Gursel Tonbul, owner of “Degirmen” LLC, received the guests, shared their activities, challenges and success story with them at the tea table, informed them about the concept of circular economy-zero waste and answered the questions of the participants. On the third day of the tour, a visit took place to the "Almond Natural Life Village" cooperative. First of all, the participants were acquainted by the responsible person with the territory of the enterprise, the farm and the workshops, farmland and guest houses located there through the tour. Then the management of the cooperative met with the participants, informed them about agro / eco-tourism, the history, importance and activities of the cooperative, answered their questions and made suggestions on future opportunities for joint work with Azerbaijani entrepreneurs. Some of the participants expressed interest in the proposal and said they would consider possible cooperation. On the last day of the tour, a visit to "Isabey Garden and Garden Houses" was organized. Here, the participants were met by the responsible person, acquainted with the activities, history and service areas of the enterprise. Afterwards, the wines produced by the company were presented and offered to the participants to taste several wines. At the end, the participants had lunch in the restaurant of the enterprise, and as a customer got acquainted with the services and taste of dishes served there. After returning to Azerbaijan to increase the effectiveness of the study tours and share the knowledge gained with local farmers, EPF organized agri / eco-tourism trainings for consortium members, and selected participants shared their findings in a roundtable discussion with all consortium members and other participants. ..

In framework of “AgriVision” project, which is implemented by Eurasia Partnership Foundation and the “Constitution” Researches Foundation with the financial support of the European Union, meetings were held between the owners of selected agro / eco-tourism destinations from Lankaran economic region and experts in the relevant field. "Muradgilde", agri / eco-tourism destination in Dashtaturk village, Lankaran region During the two-day meetings, tourism experts, including one local and one foreign expert, met with the owners of small and medium-sized farms and agricultural enterprises located in the project area, and during these meetings the participation of another local expert was also provided online. At the meetings held in Lankaran city, the experts informed the entrepreneurs about the assessment of their farms, evaluated the current situation, and pointed out the shortcomings in terms of both service and conditions. It should be noted that the expert assessments were carried out on the basis of feedback obtained from visits to selected tourist destinations in February with the participation of private tour operators and the assessment criteria developed. Development strategies for each tourist destination are developed by project experts. In general, within the framework of the project, by taking into account the rules of the special quarantine regime the experts made several business trips to the Lankaran economic region whenever possible, held meetings with both entrepreneurs and their employees, as well as local public and private providers operating in the relevant field. During these recent meetings, the experts were interested in the needs, goals of tourist destinations and relevant issues, and gave their suggestions and contributions to the formation of their development strategies. As a result of expert meetings and assessments, the training and skills needs of tourism destinations have been identified, which will be used by trainers and other professionals in capacity building activities in the near future. ..

BACKGROUND/OVERVIEW: With the financial support of the European Union, Eurasia Partnership Foundation in partnership with “Constitution” Research Foundation is implementing a 24-month "AgriVision" project in Lankaran economic region. The goal of the project is to create and test a sustainable replicable agro-tourism / ecotourism development mechanism that would help rural households in the southern region of Azerbaijan increase their revenue and intensify the connection between urban and rural in Azerbaijan. One of the main objectives of the project is to strengthen capacity of public and private agri-tourism/ecotourism stakeholders and business advisory service providers. In order to ensure that the project’s interventions align with the demand and needs of its direct beneficiaries, the expert assessments have identified the areas where the capacity of the public and private consortia members is lacking, especially the capacity of private providers of agri/ecotourism services. Based on these assessments, EPF developed a detailed plan of capacity building activities. The format of the activities will be determined to best serve the learning goals. One of the formats include trainings. OBJECTIVES, SCOPE OF WORK, COMPETENCIES Objectives: Eurasia Partnership Foundation, Azerbaijan is seeking highly qualified experts to undertake the role of Trainer who will be providing the expertise and support to both the consortium and project team when and where required. The incumbents will work in close collaboration with the operations, consortium members and projects’ staff for resolving issues of different complexity and information exchange. They will promote a quality and results-oriented approach while delivering the assignments. Scope of Work: In the scope of the project EPF will contract the services for business trainers who will work closely with the consortium and the project teams. BACKGROUND/OVERVIEW: With the financial support of the European Commission, Eurasia Partnership Foundation in partnership with Constitution Research Foundation is implementing a 24-month "AgriVision" project in Lankaran economic region. The goal of the project is to create and test a sustainable replicable agro-tourism / ecotourism development mechanism that would help rural households in the southern region of Azerbaijan increase their revenue and intensify the connection between urban and rural in Azerbaijan. Objectives: Eurasia Partnership Foundation, Azerbaijan is seeking a highly qualified expert to undertake the role of Gender Analyst who will be providing related expertise and support to both the consortium and project team when and where required. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the operations, consortium members and projects’ staff for resolving issues of different complexity and information exchange. S/he shall promote a quality and results-oriented approach while delivering the assignments. Scope of Work: In the scope of the project Eurasia Partnership Foundation will contract the services for Gender Analyst who will work closely with the consortium and the project teams. Specifically, his\her responsibility is include but are not limited to the following: Conduct gender analysis for the design of the project, and formulate an action plan for a proactive gender-based approach to project implementation, including monitoring and evaluation to ensure that there is continuing awareness of gender mainstreaming issues during project implementation, monitoring of project progress and evaluation of project results; Conduct a detailed study on the key barriers to achieving gender equality (including social norms, legislative, institutional capacity, political will etc.) focusing on those areas that are of interest to the activity of the project; A clear assessment of where the project intervention and other stakeholders can add value for achieving country objectives on gender equality (as part of national development); Realistic objectives/ opportunities for policy and political dialogue;Verify the project’s risk category (low, moderate, high) with detailed rationale (e.g. relating to changes in communities’ access to natural resources, the existence of grievance mechanisms for responding to rights and resource access issues, etc.) and define possible risk mitigation options; Detailed information please is given in attached file: TOR-Gender-AnalystDownload Interested candidates are invited to send financial offer and CV/resume to info@epfound.az by December 10.
