Strategic Cooperation and Coordination in Governance and Development
It is designed to help civil society play a more effective role in advancing the socio-economic rights of vulnerable populations. The initiative covers the October 2016-September 2017 period and combines different forms of intervention to better address the needs of regional NGOs and their constituencies.
On 15 May, Eurasia Partnership Foundation facilitated a roundtable discussion on the topic of the “Possibilities of Irrigation Supply Optimization in the Regions” within the framework of the “Enabling Civil Society to Play a Greater Role in Advancing Socio-economic Rights of Vulnerable Population” project. Alimammad Nuriyev, a president of “Constitution” Research Fund, moderated the discussion on the current situation of the irrigation system in Azerbaijan. Experts Abil Bayramov, an executive director of “Toward” Civil Society Center, and Vali Turan, a chairman of “Support Regional Media Development” Public Union, presented findings of the research on the irrigation system in Khachmaz region. Then, during the discussions, the experts and the government representatives discussed further actions that will optimize the irrigation system in Khachmaz and other regions across Azerbaijan.
The project was financed by the European Union and implemented by the UNDP. Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) as one of the 12 CSO partners in the EU-UNDP project implemented a series of activities under the initiative on Strategic Cooperation and Coordination in Development and Governance throughout the project duration.
